Supporting Councils to Lead and Deliver
Local government councils sit at the heart of Uganda's decentralisation architecture, yet many face challenges in exercising their oversight, legislative, and community representation roles effectively. MUILG's Council Development & Support work addresses this directly.
Working with councils at district, municipality, and sub-county levels, MUILG combines structured training with peer networks, governance diagnostics, practical tools, and sustained advisory support — building councils that are accountable, capable, and citizen-responsive.
